Georgina Wilson vs Shirley Kuan Her Former Talent Manager

Georgina Wilson is now the hottest topic online in the Philippines Showbiz Industry though the topic isn't being the host of ongoing Asia’s Next Top Model show but because of her actions toward her Talent Manager Shirley Kuan.

Georgina Wilson is still mum about the issue so will find out soon her reaction regarding this matter.

In the meantime here's the issue that was reported in ABS-CBN between Shirley Kuan and Georgina Wilso. Read the full story below.

MANILA - "'Was' girl na siya!"
These were the words of talent manager Shirley Kuan about Georgina Wilson, her former ward whom she dropped after the British-Filipino model supposedly bypassed her in striking an endorsement deal.
"People kept them from me," Kuan told Philippine Daily Inquirer, referring to Wilson's alleged unprofessionalism. "You develop a relationship with people, and your talent does something and they'll keep quiet about it out of respect for you… I heard only now that a major fashion magazine has banned her and refuses to work with her."
Last month, Kuan announced that she dropped Wilson from her stable of talents after the "Asia's Next Top Model" host supposedly finalized negotiations with phone brand Samsung without informing her.

On April 19, a day after Kuan made her statement, Samsung launched Wilson as one of the brand ambassadors of Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in the Philippines.

According to Kuan, she learned that Wilson was late for the launch held at SM Mega Fashion Hall in Mandaluyong City when publicists of the event, who apparently were not aware of the falling out, called her office to check on her former talent's wheareabouts.

Kuan filed a complaint against Wilson with the Professional Artist Managers Inc. (PAMI), which has since announced that it would impose sanctions on the model.

Talent manager Girlie Rodis, a member of PAMI, declined to detail what the sanctions will be but said, "It will not be good for Wilson."

"Us managers try to protect our talents," Rodis told the Philippine Daily Inquirer. "We keep a lid on bad behavior, there’s crisis management, because it will affect brand endorsements. What Georgina did to Shirley, it was the worst thing a talent can do. Shirley is very respected in the industry."

Of Wilson's apparent move to manage her own career, Rodis added: "She'll find out the hard way, that it's not easy. Some of these people, they're just concerned about how much they can make. They don't know the kind of work needed just to keep them around."

"She doesn’t want to pay commission!" Kuan said of Wilson. "She thinks she can do it herself." When asked for her comment on one PAMI member's characterization of Wilson as "mukhang pera," Kuan said: “On point.”

"I think she has been emboldened because she thinks she’s going international,” Kuan said, referring to Wilson’s ongoing stint as host “Asia’s Next Top Model."

According to Kuan, even the regional model search was a deal Wilson finalized without her knowing -- something she alleged has happened time and again.

Rodis, meanwhile, doubted whether Wilson can manage to have a thriving career without a manager.

"Georgina’s talents are limited. She’s not an actress, she doesn’t sing," Rodis said. "She was just lucky she got lumped with those other ‘It’ girls—Solenn Heussaff, Anne Curtis and Liz Uy. And they’re all morphing into individuals now, they’re at that age. She and (boyfriend) Borgy (Manotoc) can only be a cute couple for so long. If you asked me if Solenn would survive, I’d say yes because she can do so many things. She’s genuinely talented, and is the nicest. With Georgina, I don’t know."

Since Kuan made public her spat with Wilson, the TV host has yet to explain her side on the issue. She only said her lawyers will handle the problem.
